Endovascular aneurysm repair treats a widened aorta by lining it from inside with a stent-graft, delivered through small groin punctures instead of a large abdominal or chest operation.

The Procedure

- — The aneurysm sac is excluded from high-pressure flow.

Questions patients ask
Is aneurysm stent grafting safer than open surgery?+
For suitable anatomy, endovascular repair means less blood loss, a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery. It needs lifelong imaging follow-up, which open repair generally does not.
